Counselling Services

I provide individual counselling for adults, children and teens as well as couples and group counselling.

In my experience, the strength of the therapeutic relationship provides the most important foundation for growth. I endeavour to build safe and supportive relationships with my clients rooted in trust and respect.

I offer EMDR therapy, (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a highly effective treatment specifically developed to address various forms of trauma. I also draw from mindfulness, narrative, cognitive-behavioural, attachment and strengths-based modalities in my counselling. I will work with you to explore which approach, or combination of approaches, is right for you. For more information on these therapeutic modalities, please see the “EMDR” and “Resources” sections of this website.

For greater flexibility, phone and online video-conferencing sessions, (similar to Skype), are also available.

Relationship/Couples Counselling

I offer counselling for couples of all gender expressions, sexual orientations and relationship styles who are seeking to improve their relational bond. Through counselling, partnerships gain new tools to enhance their communication, their connection and expressions of care.

Mindfulness Group

This engaging, experiential 8-week Mindfulness Group is a space in which to learn and practice mindfulness skills such as breathing meditation, the body scan, sensory awareness and visualization. We will explore ways to bring greater awareness and compassion to our habitual patterns of thought, emotion and behaviour, opening up new possibilities for relating with these aspects of ourselves. We will draw on mindfulness practices to learn to respond more effectively to stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, physical and/or emotional pain. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from each other and to share their experiences with like-minded people. This group is suitable for those with no prior experience in mindfulness as well as seasoned practitioners.

I am a clinical social worker who is registered with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, (OCSWSSW). My counselling services are covered by many insurance benefit plans. Please check with your insurance provider to determine whether you are eligible for coverage.
